Sleeping in her crib!
By Kate on Dec 29, 2007 | In Milestones
Well, for the last two nights Madeleine has slept in her crib, hooray! The first night she woke mommy up for a diaper change and some fussing at 3:30 am, and last night she slept through from 9:45 pm until 6:30 am! Now, mommy still woke up a lot because that's what mommy's do when they hear their baby making noise in the night :-) Hopefully the crib transition will continue to go smoothly and all parties involved will be getting a good night's rest soon. And she is quite the nighttime squirmer too.....we never find her in the position where we laid her down at!
The day after Christmas
By Kate on Dec 26, 2007 | In Holidays
We've added several new photos from Christmas day, be sure to check them out. Miss Madeleine has been taking the day after to recuperate from her Christmas fun. In other news, today she took her first tumble. She decided to face plant the floor while she was laying on Daddy's tummy....all is well, but a few tears were shed :-)
Other fun things she's doing include rolling from her back to her side, grasping a rattle when the mood strikes her and making "conversation" with us. And as always, eating her hands is high on her list of fun....though she still hasn't found her thumb! Mommy really wants her to find her thumb since she has "just said No" to the pacifier.
Madeleine's First Christmas
By Kate on Dec 26, 2007 | In Holidays, Family
Madeleine in her pack-n-play on Christmas morning before all of the festivities started. All in all, just chilling.

Playing with my Daddy (he's wearing a silly red hat!) on Christmas morning. And that silly Mommy keeps pointing a camera at me!

It's a bird, it's a plane....no, it's super Madeleine!

Our first family photo

I love my mommy, she's so cool :-)

My Grandpa Harris reading me The Very Busy Spider by Eric Carle. I liked it and I looked at the pictures.

Here's Madeleine after her "stage debut" as the Baby Jesus at the First Friends Church Christmas cantata. She was out past her bedtime, can you tell?

Mommy and Madeleine at Christmas time with Uncle Joel in the background. There's a better one of these, but it's on our 35mm camera waiting to be developed.

Here's another photo of Madeleine, ignore the red eye :-) That face you see in the corner is Mommy, I thought Daddy was focusing on both of us, but apparently it was just Madeleine :-)

Here's another one -- just chilling....

Hanging with my Uncle Joel.

Christmas Eve
By Kate on Dec 24, 2007 | In Holidays
Well, Christmas Eve is upon us and we are so thankful to have Madeleine! We're so excited to have her first Christmas :-) She probably won't be phased, but it will give us good photo opportunities! Her personality is coming out more and more every day, and she has lots of smiles. Today for the first time she grasped a rattle when it was layed on her tummy.
2 Month Photos

Can you find the baby in this picture? This was Madeleine's crib before we cleared it out to start transitioning her there for her sleeping -- something we are still working on :-)

Hey man, these grown-ups gave me my own couch, how cool is that? Oh yeah, and I love to eat my fist but Mommy says I haven't found something called my thumb yet.

I have hands!
By Kate on Dec 5, 2007 | In Milestones
Madeleine discovered that she has hands today. Now she's been trying to eat her fists for weeks now, but today she actually realized what it was she's been trying to eat!
Thanksgiving in Indiana
By Kate on Dec 5, 2007 | In Holidays, Family
We traveled to Indiana for the Friesner Thanksgiving. Madeleine (age: 8 weeks) was loved on by all who were there!
Madeleine on her boppy pillow giving Grandma a big smile. And yes, she still has no hair just fuzz! She gets that from her mommy who was a bald baby too :-)

Hanging with my Daddy. He took his 'puter with him and Madeleine would like to think she was a big help with what he was working on.

Hanging with Aunt Sherry, who will hopefully forgive me for posting a photo of her in her jammies! But this series of photos just touched me because you could see Sherry's joy with Madeleine as well as Madeleine's enjoyment.

Madeleine with Aunt Debbie. Both were enjoying each other, I especially like the smiles they are sharing as they look at each other.

Madeleine on her very own couch, which was a gift from the Miller family. She has a "deer in the headlights" look here, but she really did like it and being able to sit up kind of on her own.

A photo of all of the grandchildren. Left to right: Ryan, Kalee, Madeleine, Tyler.
